The London-based firm of Monington & Weston were among the most highly regarded piano makers of the last century. They were particularly well known for their distinctive 'double iron' frame patent which is a feature of this particular piano. The result of this idea is that the two frames expand with changes of temperature and this makes the piano particularly sturdy and stable in terms of its tuning. This is partly why Monington & Weston pianos were a popular choice for schools, churches and other public venues. It also means that it weighs a lot more than you'd expect such a small, studio-sized piano to weigh! If space is limited but you still want a piano with a rich and full sonority then this may well be the one for you. One useful practical feature is its long music desk that can accommodate a lot of music books. Why not come and play it to experience its really fine rich sound - you won't be disappointed! Despite its small size it is nevertheless suitable for players up to at least a high intermediate level.
