This is an elegant studio-sized piano made by one of the foremost British piano manufacturers of the twentieth century. The firm of Marshall and Rose was a relative late-comer compared to other established English piano makers, having started in 1907, but they achieved great success and exported their instruments all over the world. They were particularly known for their use of lavish woods and stylish cabinets and this piano is no exception. The front panel has stunning mahogany veneering and the spindle legs are very much in the Regency style. The tone is rich, warm and communicative and the touch is medium. The action is a high quality 'Langer 75' made by Herrburger Brooks Ltd. This piano would particularly suit a smaller room, but is capable of a wide dynamic range, especially if the prop on the lid is used, and the sophistication of sound means that this is piano is great for a very wide range of styles.
