Steinway grand pianos of this size are highly regarded and sought after as they combine the full rich sound and even, medium touch that typifies Steinway pianos whilst also being of a size which can be accommodated in almost any home. In other words, the Model O is what Steinway call the quintessential 'living room' grand. It has been completely restored but retains its original soundboard, which is the 'soul' of the piano, as well as its original set of ivory keys (which we have registered) and we have cleaned and buffed them so that they look as they did the day they left the factory! We have restrung, regulated, tuned and voiced it in our workshop and have used only original Steinway parts. It retains the hammers that were on the piano when we acquired it, which appear to be original Steinway hammers, as they have sufficient felt to achieve the full rich sound associated with these fine pianos. it is now capable of a wide range of dynamic and tonal, colouristic possibilities.

It has the classic Steinway look and sound, combining traditional elegance with the contemporary polish and styling of a modern instrument. A new Model O costs over £100,000, so this piano is priced competitively at a level less than a third of the price of a new instrument and represents excellent value. This is a really exceptional instrument that offers power and warmth, with a design that allows the solid spruce soundboard to freely and efficiently resonate - just like its larger counterparts. Its superb sound and even, responsive touch really have to be experienced to be fully appreciated!
